Terms of Use
Last updated 4 June 2026
These terms cover your use of Closer, a conversation game for couples (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. Closer is made and operated by Jonathan Nyst (“we”, “us”). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Your license to use Closer
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Closer on any Apple device that you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. This license is for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Purchases and subscriptions
Closer includes two free decks. Additional decks can be bought individually, and an optional All-Access subscription unlocks every deck.
- One-time deck purchases are yours to keep.
- All-Access is a subscription billed at $39.99 per year through your Apple Account. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your device’s Settings, under your name and then Subscriptions. Prices may vary by region and are shown to you before you buy.
All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not process or store your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.
What you get, and what stays ours
The prompts, decks, text, artwork, design, and the Closer name and logo are owned by us and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your purchase gives you the right to use them inside the app for your own enjoyment. It does not give you the right to copy, redistribute, publish, resell, or otherwise share the prompts or any other content outside the app.
Fair use
Please use Closer as intended: a game played between people. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the content of the app except to the limited extent that the law expressly permits. Do not use the app in any unlawful way.
Closer is a game, not advice
Closer is made to spark good conversations. It is not therapy, counselling, or medical, legal, financial, or relationship advice, and it is not a substitute for any of those. You and your partner are responsible for your own conversations and decisions. If you need professional support, please seek a qualified professional.
Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
The App Store and Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law. Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Belgian courts. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer protections you have under the law of the country where you live, including your rights under EU consumer and data-protection law.
